CONTINUING TO INCREASE OUR MORE RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE CHOICES FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

We are continuing to evolve our products and services to reflect the rapidly changing world around us. Ensuring we offer our customers both responsible and sustainable choices delivered through our industry leading best of British design and engineering.

ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAINS

We are electrifying our Jaguar and Land Rover brands, with a growing portfolio of all- electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid options giving our customers an electrified option for every model range. All Jaguar and Land Rover nameplates will be pure-electric by end of the decade.

Our hybrid technologies help to power cutting edge Ingenium diesel and petrol engines that are lighter, cleaner and smaller.

For more information on our powertrain technologies here and to learn more on going electric, please visit our Electrification Hub.

RESPONSIBLE MATERIALS

We continue to lead the industry with more responsible materials within our vehicles under our Materiality values such as premium textiles with wool blends, natural plant fibres and recycled plastics.

Land Rover has collaborated with Europe's leading manufacturer of premium wool blends, Kvadrat, to design and develop a wool blend textile available in the Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque. Each textile in the collection is woven in the UK and embrace responsible manufacturing processes such as recycling water within the production process.

The premium wool blend is paired with a technical suede cloth that is made from 53 recycled plastic bottles per vehicle.

The Range Rover Evoque continues to offer leather alternatives to our customers. Creating Land Rover’s first plant-based textile made from eucalyptus fibres which has the lowest Global Warming potential (GWP) score of all our soft trim materials to date.

Future Jaguar and Land Rover models will continue our journey featuring materials that have 100% recycled polyester lightweight textile made from recycled plastic bottles in collaboration with our partners Kvadrat.

Thanks to an initiative with Aquafil – a global leader in the synthetic fibres industry – floor mats and trims made from ECONYL® nylon yarns, which is produced using ocean-borne plastic waste, will also be part of next-generation Jaguar and Land Rover interiors.  This material not only re-purposes waste materials, it also reduces production emissions by 90%, compared to nylon produced with oil.

For every 10,000 tonnes of ECONYL® raw material produced, 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved and 65,100 tonnes of carbon emissions equivalent are avoided.
